I used to think I was eating healthy, and in many ways, I was! But I realised I was eating TOO MUCH of even the most gorgeous, nutritious foods. It felt disheartening not to see any weight loss, and I felt quite despondent.

Is calorie calculating linked to success in weight loss...yes it is!


Then, I remembered a friend who meticulously counted every morsel of food that passed her lips. At the time, it sounded a bit sad and dreary, but the results were undeniably amazing! She was in the BEST shape ever, savouring her wine, indulging in chocolates, and truly living life to the fullest. She called calorie counting a game-changer—one of the best decisions she ever made! It empowered her and gave her a sense of control over her body. I thought, “If it worked for her, why not give it a try myself?” 


I was ready for the results! I wanted to be in shape, to stop questioning what I was doing wrong. After all, in life, as they say, there’s no room for a story on the scorecard—you either get the results, or you don’t. The reason I hadn’t seen the results I wanted was simple: I had no clue how many calories I was consuming each day.
Then, in just THREE days—yes, three little days—everything changed! Not only did I lose 1 kg, but I also felt amazing! I felt clever, powerful, and in control—excited and enthusiastic about my journey. It was easy and enlightening! I couldn’t help but wonder: why hadn’t I known about this sooner? Why did I wait so long to take charge of my health?


This experience taught me that small changes can make the difference and the path to a healthier, happier you. So, if you’re feeling stuck, remember that sometimes, the key to unlocking your goals is simply gaining awareness. 

What calorie counter should I use to get in shape?

Here's what I did.  I downloaded the MyFitness App. You could also use a chatbot or AI as your calorie counter.  I logged every single morsel that crossed my lips.  I input the information BEFORE I ate it, and boy did that work. 

I thought of calories as money.  This made it easy. I was allowed 1800 calories per day (you will have to get advice on yours), and this included breakfast, lunch, dinner, drinks and snacks.  I put the food in BEFORE I ate it, this was a game changer.  This is why.  I used to swan into the kitchen, grab a spoon and have a big old spoon of peanut butter...peanut butter is 'HEALTHY', right?  Yes, of course it is.  But it is also JAMMED to the hilt with calories.  One single spoon of 20g is upward of 150 calories and 77% fat.  That's so 'expensive' in terms of calories and nutrition.  So, I started dropping the random spooning and changed my snacking habits.

I organised and planned my meals, weighed my food and did calorie counts and portion control, and it WAS FUN!  Better than that, I was trimming down, and my weight loss was now predictable and constant.  Yes, I was training at the gym most days, but I don't think you can train fat off on a bad diet.  Eating right is the absolute game changer, and I can't wait for YOU to join me with the counting. You'll be so glad you decided to be selfish and be in control of your eating. 

So in conclusion...it's time to take control of what you put in your mouth, and you will be pleasantly surprised how quickly you change direction on the scales. Your calorie counter will become your best friend and your weapon to get in shape and then keep in shape.
